CORSI DI ALTA FORMAZIONE IN ODONTOIATRIA A LIDO DI CAMAIORE, PROVINCIA DI LUCCA

The clinical activities supporting the teaching and research efforts of the Tuscan Stomatological Institute are carried out not only at the Institute's clinical division (Fortis Dental Centre at the San Camillo Clinic in Forte dei Marmi) but also across a network of dental practices known as IST SATELLITE CLINICAL CENTRES.

The practice owners involved are lecturers at the Tuscan Stomatological Institute who offer their clinical facilities to complement their classroom teaching. This arrangement allows students to have the opportunity to visit these practices on a scheduled basis, observing various procedures learned during theoretical lessons in the context of daily clinical practice. The doctors at the satellite locations collaborate with the IST staff to provide high-quality care based on the best available scientific evidence. Despite the diversity of clinical approaches, the care provided is consistent with the educational path undertaken.

field training

The Tuscan Stomatological Institute is proud to offer students access to these practices, which provide a wide range of dental services, with a special expertise in implantology. This enhances their access to a training programme that encompasses a broad spectrum of knowledge and fosters the development of a critical and independent perspective.

The structure of the Satellite Centres may also be involved in multicentric clinical studies. The conduct of clinical trials must be managed according to principles of common sense, with the utmost protection of study participants and maintaining proper supervision by the principal investigators (PIs) affiliated with IST. All centres associated with the study will be monitored throughout the trial to ensure full adherence to the protocol and to produce high-quality data.

SECURITY SEARCH

The centre must ensure the safety and well-being of participants and provide adequate information about the procedures, as established by the protocol and approved by the involved ethics committee.

The staff at the satellite centres must be properly informed about the tested products and trained in the protocol, study procedures, and the reporting of significant deviations from the protocol or good clinical practice.

The owners of the clinical centres involved in multicentric research commit to providing high-quality data by ensuring the adequacy, calibration, and maintenance of equipment as well as the availability of properly trained and qualified personnel.
